This piece, executed on Fabriano Rosaspina wove paper, showcases the mastery of the artist in using two colors, light turquoise green and dark blue. A superb unsigned trial proof impression of the definitive state, distinguished from the numbered edition of 43, with annotations in pencil in the margin lower left. Published by 2RC Edizione d’Arte, Rome, it bears their blindstamp in the margin lower left and was printed by Eleonora Rossi and Giancarlo Iacommucci at Stamperia 2RC, Rome.

Artist Bio: Sam Francis, a pioneering Abstract Expressionist, gained international acclaim as one of the first post-World War II painters. His diverse body of work, housed in major museums globally, reflects influences from New York abstract expressionism, color field painting, and Asian and European art. Graduating from Cal Berkeley, Francis earned the title of "the hottest American painter in Paris" according to Time Magazine. Known for his lyrical and gestural style, he captured the brilliance of color throughout his prolific career.
